High-revving V8 engine with extra power; M DCT Drivelogic.
Under the CFRP bonnet of the BMW M3 CRT lies a variant of the V8 engine developed exclusively for the BMW M3 with further increased displacement, output and maximum torque. The high-revving unit provides the linear power delivery you expect from an M car and a highly responsive performance profile honed by the demands of the race track. Tuned for the BMW M3 GTS, the eight-cylinder engine develops 331 kW/450 hp from its 4,360 cc displacement. Maximum output is reached at 8,300 rpm, and the driver will find peak torque of 440 Newton metres on tap at 3,750 rpm. Helping to give the engine its intoxicating performance is wizardry derived directly from motor sport, including a bedplate crankcase construction in a special aluminium-silicon alloy, individual throttle butterflies, a knock control system with ion current technology and a dynamically-optimised wet sump oil supply.
Transferring the engine's power to the rear wheels is the M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic developed for the BMW M3. The seven-speed M DCT Drivelogic unit also works according to a principle developed in motor sport, allowing an uninterrupted flow of power through gear changes to deliver extremely dynamic acceleration. Its shift characteristics have been tuned specially for the engine powering the BMW M3 CRT. Shift paddles on the steering wheel allow the driver to change gear manually with optimum ergonomics. And a Launch Control function is on hand to generate maximum acceleration off the start line.
Special chassis construction with race-bred technology.
Expertise from race competition also makes its presence felt in the chassis technology of the BMW M3 CRT. The BMW M3 Saloon's front and rear axle construction has been enhanced by a rigid rear axle subframe and coilover suspension whose dampers are individually adjustable in their compression and rebound. The six-piston, fixed-calliper high-performance brakes of the BMW M3 CRT boast a low-weight compound construction. The vented brake discs measure 378 x 32 millimetres at the front axle and 380 x 28 millimetres at the rear. The new M3 variant also uses Stahlflex brake lines and model-specific comfort brake pads.
The specially tuned DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system - including ABS and M Dynamic Mode (MDM) - responds to both the greater dynamic potential of the BMW M3 CRT and its optimised axle load distribution. Meanwhile, the 245/35 R 19 front tyres and 265/35 R 19 rears (fitted on 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in Y-spoke design) ensure the engine's acceleration and braking power is transferred to the road with maximum impact. The electronic engine management of the BMW M3 CRT caps its top speed at 290 km/h.
The wedge shape of the new 3-Series' silhouette and its wider track (+ 37/47 mm at the front/rear) underline the sporting appearance of the new BMW. By clearly accentuating the width of the car, the multi-faceted surfaces of the expressive front end give the BMW 3-Series a sportier face than ever. A wide, squat interpretation of the upright, slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille emphasises the stance of the new BMW 3-Series. LED accent lights positioned like eyebrows above the striking twin headlights with corona rings (if xenon headlights are specified) lend an extra intensity to the classic BMW focused look. The headlights now extend up to the frame of the kidney grille, merging the headlights and grille of the new BMW 3-Series Sedan into a single stylistic unit and adding further emphasis to the car's broad-set stance. The BMW 3-Series replaces the central air intake of its predecessor with two larger intakes, which are positioned underneath the headlights to the outer edges of the front end and add extra depth to the car's sporty styling. On the far left and right of the main ducts are small vertical intakes which help create the "Air Curtain". This new technology improves air flow around the front wheels, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency and reducing fuel consumption at higher speeds.
Advanced suspension technology, featuring a large number of light-alloy components and new tuning, along with electromechanical steering which operates without torque steer, low vehicle weight and a balanced axle load ratio top off a dynamic package, making the new BMW 3-Series Sedan an exemplar of sporty handling combined with increased comfort.
With unchanged maximum power of 135 kW/184 hp at 4,000 rpm, and powerful torque of 380 Nm on stream between 1,750 and 2,750 rpm, the new BMW 320d is an extremely dynamic performer. This diesel model, too, delivers everything one would expect of a compact sports sedan. This is reflected in performance figures, which include a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of just 7.5 seconds. When necessary, the agile diesel will accelerate up to a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph).
The new BMW 320d's average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres (62.8 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of 118 grams per kilometre mark a four per cent improvement on the predecessor model, with no reduction in power. For models fitted with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the improvement is even more striking: fuel consumption (4.5 l/100 km / 64.2 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions (118 g/km) have fallen by 16 per cent. With all of this, the BMW 320d has reaffirmed its position as a high-performance, efficient sedan which boasts one of the world's cleanest and most economical diesel engines.
BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition: state-of-the-art diesel engine makes the new sports sedan the most efficient vehicle in its class
Drivers who don't want to miss out on either dynamic, sporty performance or first-class fuel economy will find the new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition an extremely attractive proposition. As in the previous model, this ultra-fuel-efficient version of the BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine represents the most radical realisation to date, in the sporty BMW 3-Series range, of BMW's development strategy for reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine is from the same family as the regular BMW 320d engine and shares the same all-aluminium crankcase, VNT turbocharger and latest-generation common rail direct injection. Additional features like a slight reduction in maximum output rating, the rpm-reducing, friction-reduced powertrain design and an optimised aerodynamics package give this EfficientDynamics version of the new BMW 3-Series the lowest CO2 emissions in its class.
The new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition develops maximum power of 120 kW/163 hp at 4,000 rpm and delivers its maximum torque of 380 Nm between 1,750 and 2,750 rpm. This sedan model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 8.0 seconds and hits a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). Fuel consumption of 4.1 litres per 100 kilometres (68.9 mpg imp), with corresponding CO2 emissions of 109 grams per kilometre, make this diesel model the most economical, eco-friendly and efficient vehicle in its segment.
The world’s sportiest diesel engine is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder unit producing 313hp at 4,400rpm and 630Nm of torque from only 1,500rpm with the help of variable geometry turbocharging. The BMW 640d Coupe is capable of accelerating from zero to 62mph in 5.5seconds before topping out at an electronicallylimited top speed of 155mph.
The launch of the BMW 640d Coupé and BMW 640d Convertible sees BMW setting another new benchmark in the premium environs of the exclusive luxury 2+2-seater segment when it comes to efficient driving pleasure. Their predecessors successfully established diesel technology in this class of car. And now the engine that achieved such acceptance has passed on the title of the world's sportiest six-cylinder diesel to its even more powerful and economical successor. The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology of the new six-cylinder in-line powerplant comprises sequential turbocharging (Variable Twin Turbo) and common-rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors
Fuel saving technology called ECO PRO mode is offered on the 6-Series. By a touch of the Drive Dynamic Control button ECO PRO mode tweaks the engine management system, accelerator mapping and gear-shift characteristics to favour a relaxed, lowrevving driving style. At the same time, power usage for electronically operated functions such as climate control is regulated to ensure maximum efficiency. A display on the instrument cluster keeps the driver informed of the levels of energy efficiency being achieved to encourage an economical driving style.
new bmw m5 2012- It is more elegant and luxurious than the BMW M5 with a good amount of aggressiveness in its design.
Just a few months before the car’s official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW has decided it was time to reveal the official specs on the fifth generation M5 sports sedan. After seeing the first concept version at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, now we can see the M5 in all its glory. And we sure like what we are seeing.
The M5 name was used for the first time back in 1984, but since then, the car has evolved into an impressive sedan that combines track potential with the comprehensive practicality of a luxurious business sedan. The new generation brings a high-revving 4.4-liter V8 engine with an M TwinPower Turbo package that delivers an impressive 560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 502 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm. The model will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and, when the speed limiter is removed, is capable of hitting an impressive top speed of 190 mph. Despite these impressive performance numbers, the car will deliver an estimated fuel economy of 28.5 mpg.
Thousands registered to be a part of the BMW M5 Story, but only six were given the opportunity to test drive the new BMW M5 at the only testing ground worthy of the attention: the Nurburgring. Check out the scintillating experience by clicking on the image above!
BMW has announced that the new BMW M5 will be available with an exclusive Frozen Black finish, which will be available to customers through the BMW Individual personalization program. This color was previously offered for the special edition BMW M3 Frozen Black. (5post.com)
It seems that with the new M5, BMW tried to repair all the damages made by the 5-Series. Where the standard sedan failed to impress, the M version does exactly the opposite. It comes with dynamic proportions and stylishly authoritative appearance that has been further enhanced by the addition of M-specific design features.
The front of the BMW is a clear indication to the power lying under the hood. The bonnet is defined by the brand’s usual V contour lines and ends with a double-kidney grille, while the three air intakes in the lower section of the front apron emphasize the cooling air requirement of the engine behind the grille.
Moving to the side of the M5, you will see two side air intakes with a dynamically curving form placed where there used to be fog lamps. The car will sit on a new set of 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design. There is also a wide chrome frame and the free-floating look of the indicator bar, which bears the M logo and gives the intakes an extremely deep-set look. The mirror casings are painted in the vehicle’s body color, while the mirror base and lower edge are painted in High-gloss Black.
The rear features a bespoke rear apron, a diffuser integrated into the lower edge of the rear apron, and, of course, the twin-pipe exhaust system. The tailpipes are positioned wide to either side of the diffuser and have likewise aerodynamically formed surrounds.
The interior continues the same sporty design language started by the exterior: it will get M sports seats, fine-grain Merino leather upholstery with extended features, door sills with “M5” lettering, an M driver’s footrest, exclusive Aluminum Trace interior trim strips, and the BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite. Standard equipment will include an iDrive control system with an up to 10.2-inch Control Display.
The buttons on the steering wheel will allow the drive to operate the cruise control system and the audio and telephone functions. On the left-hand steering wheel spoke, the driver will now find two M Drive buttons, which can be used to configure the car. For example, the driver can save a sporty configuration using the "M1" button and a comfort-biased set-up via the "M2" button.
"a bold business car that at the push of a button turns into a sports car."
For the first time in a BMW M5 the company has used a turbocharged engine. The high-revving 4.4 liter V8 unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology delivers a total of 560 HP at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 502 lb-ft between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The rev limiter intervenes at 7,200 rpm. Compared to the engine it replaces, this mean an output increase of about 10% and peak torque increased by 30%.
With this impressive output under the hood, the new M5 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in in 4.4 seconds, to 124 mph in 13.0 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph. But once you have removed the limiter you will enjoy a speed of up to 190 mph.
The new BMW M5 is fitted as standard with Brake Energy Regeneration and an Auto Start-Stop function, which automatically switches off the engine when the car comes to a halt at junctions or in a traffic jam.
The engine will be mated to a seven-speed double-clutch transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels. Both in automated mode (D) and manual (S), it delivers exceptionally fast and clean gear changes. The transmission offers a sequential shift pattern for the manual gearshift mode. Alternatively, the driver can also change gear manually using the standard-fitted shift paddles on the steering wheel – the right-hand paddle for upshifts and the left-hand paddle for downshifts.
The X6 Tycoon EVO M produces 670 hp, 700 pound-feet of torque and has a top speed limit of 186 mph (300 km/h), making it one of the fastest tuned up X6 M on the market. Some of the modifications include upgraded turbochargers, a high-flow titanium exhaust system and a remapped ECU.
The tuned up Sports Activity Coupe will sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds

A 40 mm lowering kit, wide low-profile tires, upgraded brakes and reworked suspension ensure the X6 Tycoon EVO M makes good use of the impressive performance.
The vehicle features multiple airbags throughout the car to protect passengers in crashes. Though accident ratings are declining, these safety measures minimize the risk of unfortunate injury from accidents. The vehicles also include child safety locks, fog lamps, a parking aid, tire pressure monitoring system and electronic stability control. Front seatbelt pretensioners and Bluetooth hands free are also available to consumers to protect the passengers and driver of the 2011 BMW X6 M.
The wheels are larger to help with traction and stability of the vehicle. In fact, the wheels measure 20 inches. The vehicle’s weight is one of the limiting factors on the performance of the vehicle. However, the vehicle uses the six speed M sport automatic transmission to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in approximately 4.5 seconds. The vehicle is also available in an eight-speed engine as well.
The aerodynamic design of the vehicle allows the vehicle to effortlessly achieve these speeds with minimal air resistance. The roof slopes to aid in the aerodynamic design. The vehicle also possesses carbon-fiber panels that add to the exterior design of the vehicle.
Consumers will enjoy the safety and protection of dual air bags, front side air bags, rear air bags and other airbag configurations upon request. The anti-lock braking system will minimize sliding and loss of control that may accompany sudden stops. The system is present for the four wheel drive vehicles. Traction control helps drivers maintain control of the vehicle during inclement weather and while driving on steep declines. Electronic stability control will also add additional control of the vehicle to prevent roll-over crashes or other related accidents.
A tire pressure monitoring system will ensure that tire pressure is always at an optimal level. Optimal tire pressure ensures good gas mileage and prevents accidents related to an imbalance. Tire pressure is essential to the vehicle performing at peak conditions.
To improve visibility on dark roads or during inclement weather, fog lights are provided to consumers. Parking aids will also help to prevent parking related accidents. This feature will illuminate blind spots and alert the driver if an object or person is blocking their path.
Hill descent control is also an important function that allows drivers another mechanism to control the vehicle during fast downhill descents. The vehicle’s system will activate to slow and control the rate of descent without constant application of the brakes.
Front seat belt pretensioners and child safety locks are other precautions to protect passengers of all ages. There are three-point safety belts for all seating positions. Bluetooth hands free system will allow the driver to hold conversations and control the iPod without taking their eyes from the road.
In terms of exterior, this vehicle possesses a unique styling that appeals to certain clientele. The exterior profile is full of curves and two doors on either side. From the profile, the viewer may also see that the roof is slightly angled and the rear is slightly truncated. From the rear, consumers will view the unexpected hatch back. The reviews of the exterior are mixed, but the vehicle styling is perfect for people who value both functionality and a sporty exterior.
Most all features available for the 2011 BMW X6 are standard in the 2011 BMW X6 M. Fog lamps are provided both for styling and for safety during inclement weather. The twenty inch wheels not only provide safety, but they also add to the appeal of the vehicle as well. Many remark that the wheels make the vehicle appear sportier. Each feature is chosen by the designer to improve the overall exterior appearance of the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, drivers and passengers will enjoy similar comfort from the plush leather seating. The back seat has been upgrade to include three passengers instead of two and a third rear seat is offered for three passengers. This is a remarkable upgrade from the previous year’s model that was only good for two passengers. In the front, passengers will enjoy 40.4 inches of front leg room. In the rear, passengers will enjoy 35.9 inches of rear leg room. The head room extends to 38.3. The interior was also designed to include a more luxury console for drivers.
